Body & Soul by Kathryn Fox

This is an original limited edition hand pulled screen print on 285gsm Fabriano Rosaspina Bianco paper, made by the artist in July 2020. Part of a body of work which began during the Covid19 lockdown, loosely exploring the notion of a vessel as a body. The design has been created using a digitally manipulated photograph of miniature model vessels made by the artist. The print was made using a combination of paper stencil and UV exposed image, with a mixture of organic and acrylic inks. The print was made in an edition of 10 of which this is number

Kathryn Fox is a Yorkshire based fine artist whose practice embraces a range of media and processes. She has exhibited her work and participated in art events locally, nationally and internationally, including: Tate Exchange at Tate Liverpool, fringe events at Venice Biennale and in Hamburg with Art E-Motion’s Vending Machine; Dortmund studio exchange show with East Street Arts, Leeds; Siena Art Institute; and The Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool.

Kathryn was born in Yorkshire and grew up in the heart of industrial West Yorkshire. She attended Leeds College of Art and Leeds Metropolitan University, graduating with a degree in Fine Art. She has travelled extensively, worked abroad and now continues her creative practice from her studio in Wharfedale. She is a qualified teacher and delivers workshops in printmaking and drawing. She has a keen interest in language, using her work to explore materiality and metaphor, taking inspiration for her work from her observations of daily life. She uses the creative process of making as a way of thinking and sees both the creative output and its interpretation as the tangible revelation of our individual interior worlds.
