This is an original screen print, which was hand printed by the artist in April 2020. It was made in the artist’s makeshift kitchen studio during the Covid19 lockdown in response to the conflicting observations of burgeoning springtime growth outdoors and grim news headlines reporting the daily death count resulting from the pandemic. It was made from the artist’s original design, using hand cut paper stencils and organic inks. The print was made in an edition of 16 of which this is number
Kathryn Fox is a Yorkshire based fine artist whose practice embraces a range of media and processes. She has exhibited her work and participated in art events locally, nationally and internationally, including: Tate Exchange at Tate Liverpool, Venice Biennale and Hamburg with Art E-Motion’s Vending Machine; Dortmund with East Street Arts, Leeds; Siena Art Institute; and The Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool.
Kathryn was born in Yorkshire and grew up in the heart of industrial West Yorkshire. She attended Leeds College of Art and Leeds Metropolitan University, graduating with a degree in Fine Art. She has travelled extensively, worked abroad and now continues her creative practice from her studio in Wharfedale. She is also a qualified teacher and delivers workshops in printmaking and drawing.
