A Queer Little History of Art

A collection of 70 gay-themed works of art taken from artists around the world. Images are selected from 1900 to the present day, from which we can see how queer artistic expression has changed and modified across a century’s period. The results are multivariate; erotic or serious, humorous or moving, implicit or explicit. This book is a fascinating glimpse into themes of love, desire and identity. Hannah Höch, Frida Kahlo, David Hockney, Glenn Ligon and Zanele Muholi are among the many collaborators.
